Here at Wotsup we are lucky to be right on the banks of the beautiful river Deben in Suffolk and adjacent to The Maybush Inn. The beach at Waldringfield is the perfect place to pump up your paddleboard and go exploring.
Never tried it? Well our ‘try before you buy’ scheme may be just the thing for you.
We are a small family run business. Come and visit our ‘Surf Shack’ on the quay to look at our range of boards.
As a thriving boatyard and river trip business too, we aren’t always to be found in the Surf Shack, but we are on site almost every day of the year. Just give us a call or drop us an email and we can meet you there.
All our boards are available to buy online. You can choose ‘click and collect’ if you’re local.

Why choose us?
Wotsup is uniquely situated beside the river Deben in Suffolk. Whether you are on holiday or live nearby, the beach at Waldringfield is a super safe spot to launch your paddleboard.
There are usually other paddleboarders out on the water and the prevailing breeze keeps the beach sheltered. It’s a great spot for beginners and more experienced boarders alike.
Try before you buy
We’ve chosen our boards to be stable on the water. You might have not tried paddleboarding before, or you might be thinking of upgrading to a better paddleboard. For £20, you can try one of our boards for a short 20 minute session on the river which is refundable if you purchase a paddleboard from us.
What should I wear?
Dress for the conditions or the time of year. Bear in mind that you might get wet.
Shorts and a T shirt are great in the summer but you may need a wetsuit in the winter. Always wear a buoyancy aid.
If possible, take a mobile phone with you in a waterproof pouch.
Tuck your flip flops under the twin crossed luggage straps and away you go!
It’s a good idea to get information on your boarding area. Ask locals about tides and currents. Only go out in conditions that you are confident in.
